Anthropocene represents the marks and scars humans have left on the landscape through intervention and destruction of the environment. The evidence of destruction, rust, is used as the pigment for the images. The images are mounted on a structure that replicates the internal structure of a building that has deteriorated.
The subject of photographs is quarries wherefrom these materials are extracted and visually communicate man’s mark on the planet. This piece will continue to decay and corrode throughout the exhibition as a representation of how this occurs in nature.
